Counselor

Job Overview Position: Counselor for community-based adult re-entry programs at Dismas Charities. Provide supervision and implementation of agency policies and counseling program services. Pay: $24.59 per hour. Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week. 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, Weekends. Sunday 10:00 AM- 7:00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM Wednesday 12:00 PM-9:00 PM Areas of Responsibility Comply with all agency policies and applicable procedures. Develop, coordinate, monitor, evaluate, and document individual program planning according to each client's specific needs, including program goals, referrals, and individual, family, and group counseling strategies. Guide, monitor, and document relevant aspects of resident movement, behavior, and progress. Use the FreshStart Client Management System in a timely manner. Submit resident release plans, home confinement plans, and termination letters promptly. Communicate relevant information to supervisory staff regarding the agency, facility, and resident. Provide staff duty coverage as scheduled. Attend and participate in all required meetings. Initiate and maintain cooperative and effective liaison activities with supervising authorities, other agencies, community groups, and professional associations. In the event of a work stoppage, work all hours necessary to staff the center. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Four-year degree in social human services, criminal justice, or behavioral science program from an accredited college or university. At least one year of experience working in human services or community-based services. Proficient PC experience using current Windows operating system. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel. Understand basic PC concepts (files, file paths, copying and pasting, deleting, and moving files) and operation of common office machinery. Good typing, spelling, grammar, organizational, and phone skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
