Pay: $55-58/hr Make an Impact Beyond the Clinic ATC Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and experienced Physical Therapist (PT) to provide school-based therapy services for students within Kent School District in King County, Washington. The Physical Therapist will work as part of a collaborative educational team to help students improve mobility, functional independence, access to their educational environment, and participation in school activities. Responsibilities As a School-Based Physical Therapist, you will:
- Evaluate students' gross motor skills, mobility, strength, balance, coordination, posture, and functional abilities
- Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans
- Provide direct and consultative PT services in accordance with students' IEPs
- Establish measurable goals designed to improve students' functional participation in the school environment
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with parents, teachers, special education staff, OTs, SLPs, and other school professionals
- Recommend adaptive equipment, positioning strategies, mobility devices, and environmental modifications when appropriate
- Assist students with improving safe access to classrooms, playgrounds, transportation, and other school environments
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans and interventions as needed
- Complete evaluations, progress reports, treatment documentation, and other required school-based documentation
- Educate school staff and families regarding strategies to support student mobility and functional independence
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and professional standards
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Active Washington State Physical Therapist license required
- Previous pediatric or school-based physical therapy experience preferred
- Knowledge of IEPs and special education services is strongly preferred
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary educational team
- Must meet all Kent School District and ATC Healthcare credentialing, background, and health requirements
- Monday-Friday school schedule
- No nights, weekends, or holidays
- Consistent school-based assignment
