Registered Nurse

This is a stepdown role that frequently floats to Med Surg and MS/Tele units. Ratios are approximately 1:4-5 in stepdown and 1:5-6 in Med Surg. First-time travelers are accepted. Expect to work weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as needed. The facility has high patient to clinician ratios and a lot of floating. Travelers should be comfortable floating between departments as necessary. Policies on floating comply with current standards, including appropriate orientation to the new unit. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various healthcare professionals. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Main patient diagnoses include stroke, hyperglycemia, renal failure, and atrial fibrillation. Special equipment utilized may include telehealth carts. Travelers without pediatric experience will not care for pediatric patients. Candidates must be available for holidays and weekends as part of the rotation. Return staffing policy requires one year absence and good standing at the time of departure. Modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment.
