Tech Lead, Android Core Product - Arlington, VA, USA Arlington, VA, USA Overview With the growth of our Android app, the most used text‑to‑speech app in the Play Store, we need a Senior Android Engineer to support our expanding user base and work on new, exciting projects. This key role is ideal for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in fast‑paced environments, makes product decisions, and delivers user experiences that delight users. What You’ll Do Own major features and work closely with our design team to deliver high‑quality experiences. Shape the future of our Android team. Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features. Participate in cross‑functional discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering. Review pull requests and support teammates. Handle critical issues and unexpected challenges. Take ownership of feature releases and provide nightly builds for QA. Qualifications 5+ years of software engineering experience. Familiarity with Android components. Experience building or contributing to an Android app. Product‑design intuition and user empathy. Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX. Understanding of the importance of tests and how to write them. Self‑drive to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec. Extensive experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, background services, music player service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, JUnit tests. User‑oriented problem‑solving approach. Ability to drive continuous feedback from leaders. Bonus Experience with open‑source Android projects. Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
