Licensed Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine Department: Veterinary Technicians Employment Type: Full Time Location: Huntington, New York Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 / hour Description Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care - Huntington, NY Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care is seeking a credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT / RVT / CVT) to join our growing Internal Medicine Department . This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside board-certified specialists in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while advancing your skills in specialty and complex case management . As an Internal Medicine LVT, you will play a critical role in both advanced patient care and client communication , supporting diagnostics, treatment plans, and ongoing case management. Responsibilities Assisting veterinarians with internal medicine cases and procedures Skilled venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection Monitoring and recording TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration) and blood pressure Providing safe and effective restraint of dogs and cats Assisting with basic anesthetic procedures, including patient prep and positioning Supporting diagnostics such as imaging and lab work Collaborating closely with our Emergency & Critical Care team on complex and critical cases Communicating with clients regarding appointments, medications, and follow-up care Confidently discussing estimates and treatment plans with clients Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring continuity of care Qualifications Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) in good standing Strong technical skills: venipuncture, vitals, restraint, and patient monitoring Comfortable in a client-facing role, including discussing treatment plans and estimates Experience with or interest in internal medicine and complex case management Ability to stay calm and effective when working with critical or high-acuity patients Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills Passion for learning and growing within specialty veterinary medicine Benefits Exceptional compensation $30-35 / hour Competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Tuition Reimbursement (in an accredited Veterinary Technology program) Retirement: 401(k) with employer match Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays Training and career development Paid license fees and dues Generous CE allowance Paid VTS specialization State-of-the-art specialty veterinary hospital Work alongside board-certified Internal Medicine specialists Exposure to advanced diagnostics and complex case management Collaboration with Emergency & Critical Care teams Strong opportunities for professional growth and specialization Part of the West Hills veterinary network, offering long-term career mobility across Long Island About Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care is a state‑artic specialty center serving the greater Long Island, NY area.
