We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for our team in Hickory, North Carolina. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring the integrity of balance sheet accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly closing activities by preparing and reviewing financial entries, supporting schedules, and related documentation.
• Maintain the general ledger with a high degree of accuracy and ensure transactions are recorded in the appropriate periods.
• Prepare journal entries and verify supporting data to keep financial reporting complete and reliable.
• Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis and investigate discrepancies through timely follow-up.
• Complete bank reconciliations by matching activity, resolving variances, and documenting outstanding items.
• Analyze financial balances and trends to identify unusual activity and support accurate reporting outcomes.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information needed for closing cycles and account analysis.
• Strengthen accounting processes by improving documentation, consistency, and control over routine procedures.• Proven experience working in a senior-level accounting role with ownership of month-end close responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and the preparation of journal entries.
• Hands-on experience completing account reconciliations and researching variances.
• Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial record maintenance.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet-based analysis tools.
