LEVEL 3 VEHICLE OPERATOR
Autonomous Vehicle Safety Driver
Location: San Francisco, CA
Pay: $29.00 per hour + Shift Bonuses
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site | Contract Position
Help Shape the Future of Autonomous Transportation
Join a leading autonomous ride-hailing company as a Level 3 Vehicle Operator . In this role, you'll safely operate and support self-driving vehicles while working alongside engineering and operations teams to help improve next-generation autonomous technology.
This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers who enjoy technology, have strong situational awareness, and want to work in a fast-growing industry.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate and monitor autonomous vehicles in real-world traffic
- Drive 4–8 hours per shift while maintaining constant focus and safe driving practices
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Conduct basic software and hardware operation tasks
- Document vehicle performance and provide detailed feedback to engineering teams
- Support vehicle logistics, testing, and fleet readiness
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and operational readiness
- Assist with documentation and reporting
Qualifications
- Excellent driving record with no criminal history
- Strong defensive driving skills
- Ability to remain focused while driving for extended periods
- Basic mechanical knowledge and vehicle inspection experience
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and technology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Experience
Experience in:
- Uber, Lyft, Taxi, Shuttle, or Chauffeur Services
- Amazon DSP/Flex, Delivery, Courier, or Commercial Driving
- Fleet Operations or Vehicle Testing
- Military or technical experience is a plus
Available ShiftsDay Shifts
- 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM
- 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
- 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM
Night Shifts
- 1:45 PM – 10:15 PM
- 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
- 3:45 PM – 12:15 AM
- 5:45 PM – 2:00 AM
Schedule Options
- Wednesday – Sunday
- Thursday – Monday
- Friday – Tuesday
- Saturday – Wednesday
Pay & Shift Bonuses
- $29.00 per hour
- Weekend shifts receive an additional 5% bonus
- Night shifts starting at 1:00 PM or later receive an additional 2% bonus
- Weekend night shifts receive up to 7% total bonus pay
