Clinical Instructor

Job Summary The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy is recruiting for a pharmacy resident position with a 1-year duration. The resident pharmacist will be hired as a Clinical Instructor in the COP. The resident is expected to perform applicable duties associated with the clinical partner Tandem Health, including patient care through rotational experiences, conducting quality initiatives and a major research project, attending required conferences and professional development opportunities, and completing the Clinical Teaching Certificate program through the College of Pharmacy. The position runs from July 1, 2024 through June 30 2025. Education and Experience Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE‑accredited College/School of Pharmacy. PGY1 residency and, for PGY2 positions, completion of an ASHP‑accredited PGY1 program. Availability for pharmacist licensure in the state of South Carolina. Preferred Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE‑accredited College/School of Pharmacy. For PGY2 positions only, completion of an ASHP‑accredited PGY1 program. Availability for pharmacist licensure in the state of South Carolina. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent written and oral communication and teaching skills. Adequate clinical competence, professional ethics, and sufficient clinical experience. Completion of a PGY1 residency from an ASHP‑accredited program. Job Duties Conduct patient care through rotational experiences outlined by residency requirements and affiliated clinical partners. Lead quality initiatives and complete a major research project approved by residency leadership, including work on rural health projects and statewide stewardship initiatives. Provide service to the college and profession through pharmacy organizations and attend required conferences, meetings, and professional development opportunities. Complete the Clinical Teaching Certificate Program provided by the College of Pharmacy. Essential Functions Yes, essential functions constitute 50% of the time, with additional responsibilities such as quality initiatives (30%) and service to the profession (10%).
