Job Summary:

The Center for Extended Care at Amherst, a family-owned and operated skilled nursing facility, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our dedicated team of caregivers. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our nursing department, ensuring the highest standards of quality care and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures for the nursing department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

• Foster a positive and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and development among staff members.

• Collaborate with the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and health.

• Recruit, train, and supervise a team of skilled nurses, including LPNs, RNs, and CNA's.

• Participate in the development of the Center's budget and ensure effective utilization of resources.

• Manage and coordinate the activities of the nursing department to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.

• Conduct regular rounds to assess patient care and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Maintain accurate records and reports, including incident reports, and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement review.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

• At least 2 years of experience in a senior leadership role.

• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in mentoring and training staff.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• .Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

• Strong analytical and technical skills, with proficiency in electronic medical records.
