1st shift Press Operator Needed!

Job Description

The Utility Press Operator will be responsible for running heavy presses, which involves manual labor including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and twisting throughout the day. The operator will press out pieces of metal to form water heater shells and other parts for assembly, and will also handle loading and unloading of the presses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy presses to form metal parts for assembly.
• Load and unload raw materials, paper rolls, or metal parts.
• Manage scrap waste removal efficiently.
• Inspect finished parts for defects and complete required production paperwork.
• Assist primary operators with machine change-overs, calibration, and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean work area by sweeping and mopping spills.
• Follow all safety protocols and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Essential Skills

• Experience with press operation or transferable machine operating experience.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to set up and operate machines.
• Proficiency in using calipers and micrometers for measurements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Solid tenure in previous positions indicating reliability and dedication.

Work Environment

The work environment is non-climate controlled and can be loud in certain areas. The position offers 1st Shift from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland City, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.37 - $24.47/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
