Position Overview


The Jackson County Department of Social Services is recruiting for a Community Social Services Assistant.

Grade 15

Duties and Responsibilities

• Duties primarily involve transporting foster children for a variety of purposes such as visits with parents, medical appointments, counseling, education, or training.
• Candidates for this position should be highly dependable and adaptable.
• Must have the ability to lift children and car seats.
• Must have the ability to interact well with children.

Education and Experience

• Completion of high school required.
• Possess a valid NC driver license with a good driving record. This requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.
