Senior CNC Machinist

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Shah Alam, Malaysia , supporting the production of high-precision components for the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will independently set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines, interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements, perform precision inspection, and troubleshoot machining and process issues. You will also provide technical guidance to junior machinists and support continuous improvement initiatives. This is a 12-hour day/night shift role, with flexibility to support overtime and weekend work when required.

Responsibilities 

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines with minimal supervision according to Work Instructions and Tooling Lists.

• Install, set up, and adjust tooling offsets, fixtures, work holding, and machine offsets.

• Meet daily production targets while maintaining consistent part quality.

• Load programs and safely prove out new FAI jobs.

• Troubleshoot machining issues and work with supervisors, CAD/CAM programmers, and Quality Inspectors to resolve problems.

• Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.

• Inspect in-process and finished parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.

• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to junior CNC machinists and fitters.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines.

Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in machining, engineering or equivalent.

• At least 5 years of machining experience in CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis.

• Strong CNC setup and operating skills.

• Ability to read and understand technical drawing and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.

• Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.

• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

• Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.

• Experience in high-precision or high-mix/low-volume environment is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor junior machinists and fitters .

• Experience with Haas, Fanuc, Heidenhain, or similar controls is preferred.

• Able to commit to a 12-hour day/night shift , including weekends, and support overtime when required.
