Occupational Health Nurse - RNShrewsbury, MA - Shrewsbury, MA 01545; Worcester, MA - Worcester, MA 01608OverviewSalary Range $50.00 - $52.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Travel Percentage Up to 10% Category NursingDescriptionJob SummaryThis position is responsible for performing regulatory testing, injury/illness care, worker's comp, wellness education for employees within the nursing scope of practice, the structure of the Client Standards, policies, procedures, and treatment care guidelines.Schedule: Monday - Friday 40 hours per week; day shift.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides medical care to clinic patients as requested/needed, and within the RN scope of practice, following treatment care guidelines set forth by the occupational health director.Evaluation, treatment, and case management of occupational illnesses and injuries and referring cases to providersAssist providers in managing, coordinating, documentation of Workers Comp claims & communicates with Client's WC claims carrier as needed.Maintain Electronic Medical Record (EMR- Cority) and ensures complete & accurate documentationPerforms regulatory testing including but not limited to: Respiratory medical evaluation, spirometry, audiometry, vision tests, urine test, EKG, immunizations, blood draws, stress test, MicroFit, heat stressMay perform First Aid, CPR, AED, and other training as necessaryAssist with Outage schedulingMay be assigned to the night shift or weekend work during the outageProvides preventive health education to employees as needed within scope of practice.Maintains clinic utilization reports - clinic encounters, first aid injuries, Workers' Compensation claims, supply inventory, equipment calibration & inventoryParticipates in general flow of clinic operations (answers phones, checks email, medical records, scheduling, filing, copying charts, traffic control).Maintain clinic's medical & office supplies in collaboration with ancillary staffMaintains communication with the Clinic Medical Director, Account manager, Team Lead & client as necessaryEnsures that employees have appropriate return-to-work clearances.Coordinates employee exams &medical surveillanceOther duties as assigned or those duties that may be required as management deems necessary.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceMust be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid RN license in the state of California.Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred.Must hold current BLS certification.If needed, NIOSH, CAOHC DOT Drug, and Alcohol testingCertification in Occupational Health preferred.Proficient in basic office software applicationsExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)Skills and CompetenciesStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.Strong critical thinking skills, problem solving, and decision making.Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.Ability to manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to create and edit written materials.Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.Ability to meet and exceed daily and weekly individual performance goals.Ability to work independently as well as assist other team members when needed.Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.Computer SkillsMust be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.Physical DemandsRequires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.Some bending and stretching could be required.Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.Work EnvironmentMainly indoor, office environment conditions.The noise level is usually moderate.Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled.This position has an hourly pay range of $57 - $62 per hour.
