As a Culinary Assistant at Meadowview of Johnston, you serve residents, employees, and family members’ meals. Our Culinary Department is a great group to work with and is valued by the staff and residents alike. There are no late nights in our kitchen! Position Type: Full-Time, benefits eligible position working a varying schedule including every other weekend. Shifts Available: Days 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM (Including Every Other Weekend) Wage Range: $17 - $19 Location: 5555 Pioneer Parkway, Johnston, IA 50131 Cook/Culinary Assistant Responsibilities Prepare and cook all meals to ensure adherence to recipes and quality standards. Observe and report on low stock or high-demand choices. Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and families. Work within the department to provide quality and nutritious meals and service to residents. Assist with food preparation and serving meals to residents. Help maintain a clean and sanitary dietary department. Wash dishes and clean the kitchen and dining rooms. Assist residents, employees, and guests with a broad range of dietary needs. Perform other duties as needed. Cook/Culinary Assistant Qualifications 1+ years of commercial cooking/food preparation experience required. Strong communication skills to interact with residents and staff. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills.
