Principal, Clinical Data Lead

Biogen seeks a Principal Clinical Data Lead to oversee end-to-end data management across clinical trials and programs. The role ensures high-quality data deliverables, manages vendor relationships, drives process improvements, and mentors clinical data management staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end clinical data management activities across assigned studies and programs
• Serve as primary point of contact for data management deliverables and ensure consistent application of standards
• Develop risk mitigation plans, monitor study metrics, and escalate issues as appropriate
• Perform holistic data review using analytics tools and partner with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders
• Drive process improvement initiatives, manage vendor performance, and support audit and inspection readiness

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in scientific or quantitative discipline preferred
• 5–7 years of clinical data management experience including study start-up, conduct, and database lock
• Proficiency with EDC platforms such as Medidata Rave and data review tools including eCS elluminate
• Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Deep knowledge of drug development, biopharmaceutical industry, and data management outsourcing models
• Demonstrated ability to influence without formal authority and manage multiple competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation: $122,000–$163,250 base
