Overview

Our LTC facility is seeking a dedicated, experienced Nurse Educator & In-Service Coordinator to join our post-acute and long-term care team. This part-time role is ideal for a clinically strong RN passionate about staff development, education, and improving resident outcomes. The schedule includes 3 days per week, with flexibility to cover rotating weekends and occasional evening hours to support all shifts.

Job Summary

• Develop, coordinate, and deliver orientation programs for newly hired nursing staff.

• Plan and implement ongoing in-service education programs in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Provide hands-on clinical training and skills validation for nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver ongoing in-service education programs in accordance with federal, state, and facility requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement orientation programs for all new nursing staff (RNs, LPNs and CNAs)

• Lead new hire orientation and onboarding for nursing staff

• Plan and deliver engaging in-service education programs

• Conduct skills training, competency validations, and clinical coaching

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility training requirements

• Collaborate with leadership on quality improvement initiatives

• Monitor education records and maintain accurate documentation

• Support staff across all shifts, including weekends and evenings as needed

• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAP) team to address identified gaps.

• Develop targeted education in response to incidents, infections, falls, medication errors, or deficiencies.

• Provide clinical support, mentoring, and coaching to nursing staff.

• Partner with Infection Preventionist ( or serve in dual role if applicable) to provide infection control training.

What We’re Looking For

• Active RN license for NYS

• 2+ years of experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or post-acute setting

• Experience in staff education, precepting, or leadership preferred

• Strong knowledge of LTC regulations and clinical standards

• Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills

• Ability to work a flexible schedule

Schedule

• 3 days per week (part-time)

• Rotating weekends required

• Occasional evening hours to support off-shifts
