It operates 24 hours a day and produces roughly 60 hours of local programming each week. Job Summary Temporary Master Control technician performing coding, operation, monitoring, and ingestion duties for WVUE. Responsibilities include live and pre‑recorded content coding, operating Ross Overdrive and related equipment, monitoring on‑air signals, and managing Ross Overdrive automation, VizRT graphics, and supporting equipment. The role also requires coordination with newsroom and other departments to meet daily production demands while ensuring uninterrupted operations. Responsibilities Code live and pre‑recorded content for WVUE and operate Ross Overdrive and related equipment. Coordinate with newsroom to produce top‑rated television and digital programs. Monitor on‑air signals and ingest daily programming and commercials. Operate Ross Overdrive automation, including Panasonic robotic cameras, Ross Carbonite Ultra switcher, Calrec audio console, and VizRT graphics. Collaborate with other departments to meet daily demands. Troubleshoot basic technical issues and escalate as needed to maintain uninterrupted operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Team‑first attitude with strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to multitask and work effectively under time‑sensitive, live‑production deadlines. Strong technical aptitude and computer skills; comfortable learning new production/playout systems. Previous newscast directing and master control experience preferred. Experience with Ross Overdrive and/or VizRT is a definite plus. Additional Information Schedule flexibility is required to cover all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
