In collaboration with our team, you will be called upon to use your technical expertise to ensure that the technical support needs are met. You will be responsible for designing and drafting designs as requested to meet the requirements of configuration changes, new projects, maintenance or repairs. If you are looking to use your knowledge and get some great hands-on experience, then this job is for you! Tasks: Develop designs, create 3D models, prepares, sketches, concepts, (shop) drawings. material selection, finishes, etc. with minimal input until design reviews; Build fixtures and jigs using the 3D printer; Takes precise measurements of existing geometry; Specific areas of design include: rail car door systems, mounting equipment, mechanical systems, interiors, and others; Brainstorming ideas with the team; Uses assembly industry best practices; Plan multiple tasks and meets delivery schedule; Applies good design practices and be knowledgeable and understand of shop installation practices and procedures; Keeps up-to-date on work-related methods, technologies and advances in the working field. Requirements Diploma in technical or industrial drafting with a minimum of 3 years of experience Experience and advanced knowledge of Solidworks Knowledge of Microsoft office suite Accuracy, time management, team work are necessary skills Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Railway or transportation experience is a major asset #J-18808-Ljbffr
