Occupational Therapist PRN
Methodist Dallas Medical Center
Methodist Health System is seeking a compassionate, patient-centered Occupational Therapist PRN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospital and clinic network across Texas. In this as-needed role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to patients with a variety of diagnoses in an acute care, inpatient, and/or outpatient setting, helping them improve function, independence, and quality of life. Working within a culture that emphasizes integrity, compassion, accountability, and collaboration, you will partner closely with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation professionals, and other members of the care team to deliver coordinated, goal-driven treatment. As an Occupational Therapist PRN, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive evaluations, identifying functional deficits, and developing individualized treatment plans that address each patient’s physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs. You will implement therapeutic interventions such as ADL training, functional mobility and balance activities, neuromuscular re-education, and the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology. You will provide ongoing patient and family education, establish realistic goals, and actively participate in discharge planning to support a safe transition to home or the next level of care. You will document all assessments, treatment sessions, and patient progress accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, following regulatory and payer guidelines. In this PRN position, you will have flexibility in scheduling while being expected to reliably support staff coverage needs, which may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on patient volume and departmental demands. You will contribute to a positive, inclusive environment, demonstrating strong communication skills, professional accountability, and a commitment to Methodist Health System’s mission to improve and save lives with high-quality, compassionate care. Candidates should be graduates of an accredited Occupational Therapy program with current or eligible Texas licensure as an Occupational Therapist. NBCOT certification as a Registered Occupational Therapist is preferred or may be required according to state regulations. A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient setting is preferred, though strong new graduates with relevant clinical rotations will be considered. Current BLS certification is required. This PRN role is ideal for therapists who value clinical excellence, flexibility, and the opportunity to work within a collaborative, mission-driven health system that offers competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
