Position Summary The Sections of Child Development, Endocrinology, and Pulmonology in the Department of Pediatrics at UICOMP are looking to add a Pediatric Psychologist. The role involves psychological assessment, consultation, and intervention services for children, adolescents, and families within the mentioned clinics. As an integral part of an interdisciplinary care team, the psychologist works alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, therapists, and other specialists to address the emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of pediatric patients with complex medical and developmental conditions. Duties & Responsibilities Provide clinical care to children with complex medical needs in child development, endocrinology, and pulmonology specialties. Conduct behavioral assessment and intervention for children in Child Development, Peds Pulmonology (Cystic Fibrosis, Home Ventilatory Support, and Sleep Medicine clinics), and Peds Endocrinology (Pediatric Diabetes Resource Center and endocrine clinic). Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and other health professionals. Develop and conduct clinical and/or basic research in Pediatric Psychology. Perform other duties of a University faculty member, including committee assignments, curriculum development, research supervision, and administration. Engage in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral degree in psychology (PhD or PsyD) with subspecialty training in health psychology. Eligibility for clinical licensure in the State of Illinois. Evidence of academic productivity, including training, published papers, and conference presentations. Preferred Qualifications Completion of a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology. Experience working with children and families who have complex medical conditions. Prior experience mentoring students and trainees. Evidence of excellence in clinical care. Interest in working with cystic fibrosis, sleep, and medically complex patients. Apply by July 20, 2026. The budgeted salary range for the position is $108,000 to $140,000 per year. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
