Maintenance Tech, PRN
Methodist Hospital for Surgery
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: This maintenance tech is responsible for assisting in preventive maintenance, reporting documentation of the hospital in order to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. There is no remote option for this position. REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum of one year of experience in building mechanical equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college education preferred
- Ability to read, write and follow safety directions as required.
- Painting and minor maintenance work experience preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Makes minor mechanical, electrical and plumbing and painting repairs as requested
- Maintenance and beautification of facility and grounds.
- Conducts scheduled inspections and maintenance throughout the facility.
- Maintains and tests the emergency power system to ensure availability of power to all entrances, exits, fire detection alarms and extinguishing equipment, and life support systems.
- Maintains all essential equipment (e.g., boiler room equipment, nursing unit/medication, etc.) in a safe operating condition
- Must be able to work day shift (8:00A - 5:00P), weekends, and on-call, as scheduled.
- Remains flexible for other duties and special projects assigned

- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit, converse, and listen; use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis and be able to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis.
- The employee must be able to stand and/or walk at least 5 hours per day.
