Surgical Unit RN - Biddeford, ME

Elevate your nursing career by contributing your expertise to a high-performing perioperative team specializing in complex Gynecology and Genitourinary procedures within a dynamic Level One Trauma Center. This contract opportunity is tailored for a seasoned RN with at least three years of Level 1 trauma experience and demonstrated proficiency in a broad spectrum of surgical interventions-from Robotics (Davinci Xi) and PCNLs to advanced procedures like nephrectomies, cystectomies, and pediatric to geriatric surgical care.


Schedule & Hours:

• 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 12-hour shifts
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend rotation: 1 in every 4 weekends
• One overnight call, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. for Trauma; specialty teams follow departmental call guidelines

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of perioperative nursing experience; 3+ years Level 1 trauma strongly preferred
• Current RN license in good standing
• CNOR certification preferred
• Proven competency with major OR equipment: Storz, Stryker, Olympus, Intuitive Robot
• Experience with Epic EMR
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and commitment to high-quality, timely patient care

Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert perioperative care to surgical patients across age groups
• Scrub and circulate for a wide range of procedures: robotics, GU/GYN, ortho trauma, endovascular, and more
• Maintain 1:1 patient-to-nurse ratio in a 26-bed OR
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary surgical teams
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
