RN - Med Surg

Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team on the Med/Surg unit. This role provides the opportunity to work in a supportive environment with updated staffing ratios and access to a virtual nursing model.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care on the Med/Surg unit, with an emphasis on medical, surgical, and orthopedic cases.
• Collaborate with a designated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a supportive virtual nurse to enhance patient care delivery.
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and engage in patient education.
• Assist in the management of patient care plans and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing training to maintain a high level of competency.

Shift Information

• Shifts: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Weekend and holiday work may be required as needed.
• No call or standby requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Experience in Med/Surg or related fields is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

The nursing ratio on the Med/Surg unit is 1:6/7, with CNAs working at the same ratio. A virtual nurse will assist a larger group of patients at a ratio of 1:30. This model is designed to improve patient care and support nursing staff effectively.

All candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from any facilities associated with the organization. Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.

Initial orientation will consist of a classroom setting in the first week followed by 2-12 hour shifts on the floor.
