Building Plans Examiner I/II

Building Plans Examiner I We are looking for a Building Plans Examiner to join our team in the role of Building Plans Examiner. In this role, you will perform duties related to reviewing and approving building construction plans and ensuring compliance with pertinent codes and ordinances. You will also provide assistance to the public with respect to the permit process, code application, and code interpretation. Work Schedule The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. or 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.; a flex schedule may be available. Candidates may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule with supervisor approval and must be able to report to the City of Roseville worksites when required. Responsibilities Perform building plan examination tasks, review and approve construction plans, ensure compliance with building codes and ordinances, assist the public with code interpretation, and perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications One year of increasingly responsible building plan examination, architectural design, drafting, and/or inspection experience. Completion of thirty units from an accredited college or university with major coursework in engineering, architecture or a related field, or possession of a valid I.C.C. certificate as a Building Plans Examiner can substitute for the thirty units. Possession of a valid I.C.C. certificate as a Building Plans Examiner is required within one year of appointment.
