Job Title: Purchasing Clerk

Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Glendale specializes in the manufacturing of precision magnesium and aluminum sand castings. We have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Clerk. This role will play a vital role in supporting business operations by handling order processing, inventory monitoring, and record-keeping. Reporting directly to and assisting the Purchasing Supervisor, the successful incumbent will also utilize Excel skills to build spreadsheets and data tracking tools that support company reporting and analysis.

Essential Responsibilities

• Create, track, and manage purchase orders while rigorously verifying accuracy against internal requisitions and vendor quotes.
• Build, maintain, and update Excel spreadsheets and tracking tools to support day-to-day business operations, financial reporting, and data analysis.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm order status, check product availability, request price quotes, and expedite delayed deliveries.
• Monitor current stock levels, assist with inventory replenishment cycles, and help reconcile physical stock counts or discrepancies.
• Maintain organized, detailed digital and physical files for all purchase orders, receipts, and delivery schedules.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook for professional correspondence.
• High accuracy in data entry, verifying numbers, and reconciling complex order discrepancies.
• Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with external suppliers and internal teams.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple orders and track various shipments simultaneously.
