Senior EDM Machinist

Acara Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior EDM Machinist to join our client on a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity located in San Jose 95131. Payrate: $55 - $65 per hour (OT available) Shift: 9x80 work schedule with flexible start times Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with match, paid holidays, PTO Position Overview Seeking a Senior EDM Machinist with 10+ years of experience in Wire EDM, capable of producing complex, high-precision components with tight tolerances. Requires strong technical skills, problem‑solving ability, and a focus on quality and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Set up, program, and operate Wire EDM machines to spec Interpret drawings, GD&T, and CAD models Optimize machining parameters for accuracy and efficiency Perform complex setups and multi‑axis operations Inspect parts using precision tools (CMM, micrometers, etc.) Verify tolerances (0.0001") and maintain quality records Improve machining processes, tooling, and fixtures Develop EDM processes for new and prototype work Support training of junior machinists Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications 10+ years of Wire EDM machining experience Advanced knowledge of EDM programming software (Esprit, Mastercam, Sodick, Mitsubishi, or equivalent) Strong understanding of metallurgy and machining characteristics of various alloys Proficient in mathematical calculations and GD&T Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality output under tight timelines Preferred Skills / Qualifications Experience with CNC milling or turning in addition to EDM Background in aerospace, medical device, mold making, or high‑precision manufacturing Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement initiatives Working knowledge of CAD/CAM modeling and toolpath generation Aleron companies (Acara Solutions, Aleron Shared Resources, Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRise, Viaduct) are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
