Rooted in the philosophy that "community is therapy," the Clubhouse operates on a "work-ordered day" where members and staff work side-by-side to manage operations, build skills, and support each other in achieving meaningful life goals. The program provides opportunities for employment, education, skill development, social connection, and access to essential resources that promote independence and stability.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Anthropology, Public Health, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a similar settingMinimum 2 years of experience working with individuals living with serious mental health conditionsStrong understanding of evidence-based practices in mental health treatmentExperience with Medi-Cal reporting, behavioral health policies, and regulations preferredStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsStrong administrative and organizational skills with excellent time managementMust be proficient in technology, including documentation systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles and trauma-informed careBilingual preferred but not requiredWhat This Role Looks Like (Day-to-Day Reality)Lead day-to-day operations of the Clubhouse programWork closely with members and staff in a collaborative, community-based environmentOversee program performance, staffing, and complianceBalance administrative leadership with hands-on program engagementBuild partnerships and maintain strong community presenceThis role requires strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage both people and operations in a dynamic, mission-driven environmentWhat You'll DoProgram LeadershipProvide leadership and vision aligned with the Clubhouse International ModelFoster a therapeutic, community-driven environment focused on collaboration and shared responsibilityOversee all program components including Work-Ordered Day, employment, education, and social programmingAdministrative OversightManage overall program operations including fiscal oversight, risk management, and quality assuranceEnsure compliance with Medi-Cal, contract requirements, and internal policiesOversee data collection, reporting, and documentation accuracyMaintain a safe, clean, and functional work environmentStaff Supervision & DevelopmentSupervise, coach, and develop staff to ensure high-quality service deliveryLead hiring, onboarding, and retention effortsEvaluate staff performance and promote professional growthEnsure meaningful member participation across all program activitiesCollaboration & Community EngagementBuild and maintain relationships with employers, community partners, and advisory boardsSupport Transitional Employment programming and employer partnershipsParticipate in provider meetings and coordinated care effortsCommunicate regularly with contract stakeholders and representativesProgram Quality & Member ExperienceEnsure services are delivered in alignment with Clubhouse standards and evidence-based practicesPromote a culture of respect, inclusion, and recoverySupport members in achieving vocational, social, and personal goalsAdditional ResponsibilitiesParticipate in occasional evening, weekend, or community eventsDemonstrate cultural competence, trauma-informed care, and gender-responsive practicesComplete all required trainings in a timely manner (California-based Clubhouse training)Perform other duties as assignedHow Success Is MeasuredProgram compliance and contract performanceMember engagement and program participationStaff performance and retentionQuality and consistency of service deliveryStrength of community partnerships and employment outcomesWho Thrives in This RoleIs a strong, mission-driven leaderBuilds collaborative, community-based environmentsIs highly organized and operationally strongThrives in people-centered, dynamic settingsIs passionate about mental health recovery and social impactWork RequirementsAbility to work on-site full-time in San Diego locationsAbility to participate in occasional evenings, weekends, and eventsAbility to manage both administrative and field-based responsibilitiesCompensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and internal equityMonthly stipend160 hours PTO + paid sick time12 paid holidays (including birthday and floating holiday)4 paid volunteer hours per month90% employer-paid employee-only medical benefitsFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Short-term & long-term disability, AD&DEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)401(k) with company matchProfessional development opportunitiesQuarterly in-person eventsEmployee discount programs
