Director of Accounting

Client:Our client is a global retail organization seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, tax compliance, and key accounting operations. This role reports to the VP of Accounting & Reporting, leads three direct reports, and works closely with the global finance organization.Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.Why You'd Want To Work Here:High visibility role with regular exposure to senior leadership and the global finance teamBroad ownership across financial reporting, inventory, cost accounting, tax, and controlsOpportunity to lead process improvements, systems implementations, and accounting transformation initiativesKey leadership position with direct reports and significant influence over financial operationsShort Overview of Responsibilities:Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and consolidated U.S. GAAP financial reportingManage journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger analysis, reporting packages, and external auditsOversee inventory and cost accounting, including PPV analysis, reserves, transfers, landed costs, and COGS analysisLead federal and state income tax coordination, sales and use tax compliance, tax provisions, and regulatory inquiriesMaintain strong internal controls and improve accounting policies, processes, and proceduresServe as an accounting SME for new systems, technology implementations, and process improvementsLead and develop the accounting team while partnering across the global finance organization xhyhwjd You Should Apply If You Have:6+ years of progressive accounting experienceExperience with a large CPA firm and/or a $300M+ revenue organization strongly preferredStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, and taxAdvanced Excel and Microsoft Office skillsBachelor's degree in AccountingCPA preferredStrong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills Talent Partners
