Mechanical Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC design for healthcare, education, and commercial building projects. This position will be responsible for HVAC system design, engineering calculations, construction documentation, and coordination from concept through construction. The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of building systems experience and be capable of independently managing technical responsibilities while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and mechanicalsystems for healthcare, K-12, higher education, and commercial facilities.
• Perform heating andcooling load calculations, equipment sizing, system selection, and relatedmechanical engineering calculations.
• Develop HVAC plans,specifications, details, schedules, and construction documents.
• Coordinate mechanicaldesigns with architectural, electrical, plumbing, structural, and otherengineering disciplines.
• Support projects throughdesign development, construction administration, site visits, andresolution of field-related issues.
• Communicate directly withclients and project teams while managing assigned engineering tasks,schedules, and deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree inMechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of applicableprofessional HVAC and mechanical building systems design experience,ideally 7+ years' experience.
• Experience designing HVACsystems for healthcare, K-12, higher education, commercial, or similarfacilities.
• Strong knowledge of HVACequipment, load calculations, system selection, applicable codes, andconstruction documentation.
• Professional Engineer (PE)license preferred but not required.
• Ability to workindependently, collaborate effectively with remote teams, and travel toproject sites and Syracuse as needed.
