Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) 12-Hour Night Shifts

This is a 13-week contract position requiring 12-hour night shifts, with weekends as scheduled. Registered Nurses must be available to work four weekend night shifts during their four-week schedule.

Job Description

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) offers care for patients requiring closer monitoring and interventions. Registered Nurses in this unit will manage a patient load typically ranging from 1:4 to 1:5, occasionally up to 1:6. The RN's responsibilities include patient monitoring, administering medications, interpreting telemetry strips, and titrating IV drips as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and monitoring for patients with conditions such as chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, and those undergoing post-procedural care.
• Manage IV medications, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, and Nitro.
• Interpret and analyze telemetry strips, collaborating with telemetry technicians as required.
• Assist with patient care tasks, supported by Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
• Participate in self-scheduling while fulfilling unit needs and accommodating requested days off.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• 1-2 years of recent IMU or similar nursing experience preferred.
