Another Star seeks an Area Maintenance Manager to transition our maintenance organization from a reactive model to a preventive one. The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and solid people‑management experience, coupled with technical knowledge to design and monitor day‑to‑day maintenance, minimise out‑of‑order rooms, and develop analytical insights to reduce incidental interventions. Compensation $10,595 per month. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic, proactive leadership across the portfolio to maintain high maintenance standards, deliver an outstanding guest experience, and continuously improve performance through trend analysis and solution‑driven actions. Lead a high‑performing team of eight, fostering accountability, meeting deadlines, enhancing revenue performance through quality properties, and maximising the use of in‑house technicians. Oversee and support the West Coast portfolio P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, CapEx planning, and procurement of operating equipment, aligning with financial targets through cost control. Leverage BMS and FMIS (Planon) to analyze data, implement and manage the Multi‑Year Maintenance Plan, ensure compliance, apply preventive maintenance (PPM), and proactively resolve recurring issues to minimise equipment downtime. Lead recurring reporting and meetings, providing clear updates on team performance, OOO rooms, outstanding issues, CapEx projects, budgets, future initiatives, and KPI targets. Maintain effective relationships with third‑party contractors (e.g., Aramark) and ensure adherence to service‑level agreements. Monitor and track project permits, sign‑offs and close‑outs related to local city departments & authorities; prepare, negotiate and contract client supply items. Manage and administer all building and MEP documentation (drawings, instructions, specifications, etc.). Work on health and safety to ensure each property complies with relevant legislation and maintain accurate records, aligning with the health and safety policy. Record and report activities in line with BREEAM / LEED accreditation and energy labels. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Leadership experience across multiple sites, with the ability to lead, engage, and inspire high‑performing remote teams. Strategic, proactive thinking that uses trend analysis to drive overall performance improvements. Effective communication skills for clear articulation of plans, delegation, and stakeholder engagement. Financial acumen with experience managing P&L, budgets, and financial reporting across OPEX and CAPEX. Negotiation and contract management with suppliers and third‑party contractors. Guest‑focused mindset and a strong understanding of hospitality standards. Solid technical background in MEP systems. Proficiency with Building Management Systems and FMIS platforms, including Planon and Topdesk. Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and documentation practices. Languages: English (other languages considered a plus). Location & Hours Position based on the West Coast of the U.S., covering the West Coast portfolio. Full‑time; hybrid working possible; not fully remote. Travel: approximately one week per month, with quarterly visits to our New York support office.
