Volunteer Social Media Platform Manager (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and More)

Legacy Paws Rescue is a veteran-owned 501(c)(3) dog rescue and sanctuary in Catawba, NC, and we are looking for volunteers to take ownership of our social media platforms.

One of the hardest lessons I've had to learn since starting the rescue is that I can't do everything myself.

For the past eighteen months, I've been responsible for the dogs, adoptions, fundraising, transports, events, paperwork, social media, and everything in between. If Legacy Paws is going to become sustainable, I need people I can trust to take ownership of areas where they have strengths that I don't.

Because of that, I am not looking for someone to occasionally create a post when I ask.

I'm looking for individuals who want to fully manage a platform.

For example, one volunteer might take ownership of Facebook. Another might manage Instagram. Another might focus on TikTok. Each person would be responsible for creating content, scheduling and publishing posts, responding to comments and messages when appropriate, monitoring engagement, and helping grow that platform over time.

You will not be expected to create content from nothing.

We can provide:

• Photos and videos of the dogs

• Rescue stories and dog bios

• Behind-the-scenes content

• Educational content and ideas

• Access to our voice profile and brand messaging

• Additional video content when needed

What I need is someone who can take those resources and turn them into a consistent, engaging presence without requiring constant direction or supervision.

The ideal volunteer:

• Has experience with social media management, content creation, or digital marketing

• Understands how to build engagement and grow an audience organically

• Is comfortable responding to comments and interacting with followers

• Can work independently and follow through consistently

• Believes authentic storytelling is more powerful than polished marketing

Experience with animal rescue, nonprofits, or mission-driven organizations is a bonus, but it is not required.

Legacy Paws is about more than finding homes for dogs.

We're building a community centered around kindness, connection, education, and the human-animal bond. Social media is one of the most important ways people discover our mission, meet our dogs, and decide whether to adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate.

The right volunteer won't just be posting content. They'll be helping animals get seen.
