Unit Secretary Part Time

Unit Secretary (Part-Time) Part-time: 16 to 20 hours a week. Works every third weekend 8:00am - 4:30pm, and some midweek days. Overview The Unit Secretary provides administrative and clerical support to the Health Information/Skilled Nursing department; scheduling resident appointments and transportation; preparing admissions records, charts, and ID bands for newly admitted residents; answering phone calls; exhibiting excellent customer service and tact when dealing with physicians, residents, and families; and performing other administrative duties as assigned. Responsibilities Schedule resident appointments and transportation. Prepare admissions records, charts, and ID bands for newly admitted residents. Answer phone calls and provide customer service to physicians, residents, and families. Perform other administrative support tasks as directed by supervisors. Qualifications Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility as a unit secretary, preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology. Basic computer knowledge and typing/data‑entry skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent customer‑service skills and telephone etiquette. Ability to concentrate with frequent interruptions. Ability to work independently with little direct supervision. Strong organizational, prioritization, and deadline‑management skills; high attention to detail. High school graduate or equivalent. Legally authorized to work in the United States.
