National Installation Network Director

Confidential Client — West Chester, OH (with regular national travel) About Our Client Our client manufactures aluminum ramps, steps, canopies, covered walkways, and OSHA-compliant access products in West Chester, Ohio, and installs them for customers nationwide. Founded in 2009, the company has experienced significant growth and continues to expand across the United States. To support that growth, they are building a professionalized nationwide installation network that their sales team, project managers, and customers can rely on for consistent quality, safety, and pricing. The Opportunity This is a newly created leadership role designed to take an existing installation network to the next level—professionalizing standards, standardizing pricing, and strategically expanding coverage as demand grows. Today, the company works regularly with 7–10 experienced installation partners across the country. Your mission is to strengthen that foundation by defining who the company partners with, what exceptional performance looks like, what installation should cost, and how the network is measured and held accountable. You'll then strategically expand geographic coverage to support continued sales growth. This is a highly cross-functional leadership role that blends field operations, contractor management, pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and training program development. We're looking for someone equally comfortable negotiating subcontractor agreements, building pricing models in Excel, and conducting jobsite quality inspections. What You'll Own Network Standards & Quality Build strong relationships with existing installation partners while understanding their capabilities, capacity, and geographic coverage. Define and document the standards every installer must meet, including safety, workmanship, code compliance (ADA / IBC / OSHA), schedule performance, and customer experience. Develop a scorecard-based certification program used to evaluate, approve, and, when necessary, remove installation partners. Conduct field spot checks and post-installation quality audits while driving corrective action with underperforming installers. Create closed-loop feedback systems using customer feedback, project management input, and audit results to continually improve installer performance. Develop standardized, pre-negotiated installation pricing by product line, project complexity, and geographic region so Sales can quote installation as quickly as freight—eliminating lengthy subcontractor bid delays. Build and own the company's installation rate card and pricing model, maintaining it as new installers and markets are added. Periodically renegotiate pricing as labor markets, material costs, and installer performance evolve. Balance competitive installation pricing while protecting company margins. Partner with legal to continuously improve the company's subcontractor agreements, including insurance requirements, warranty language, and performance expectations. Training & Certification Design and implement a comprehensive installer training and certification program covering installation procedures, safety requirements, and the company's product standards. Develop onboarding materials that allow new installation partners to become productive quickly. Establish minimum certification requirements before installers are approved for field work. Network Expansion Identify geographic markets where additional installation partners are needed to support current and future growth. Recruit, evaluate, and onboard qualified subcontractors in strategic markets. Maintain a documented pipeline of qualified backup and replacement installers throughout the country. Cross-Functional Partnership Maintain and distribute the company's approved installer list by region to Project Managers responsible for scheduling and purchase orders. Partner with Sales to ensure standardized pricing supports an efficient quoting process while assisting with complex or non-standard opportunities. Work closely with Project Managers to resolve installer performance issues quickly and effectively. Regularly report to senior leadership on installation network coverage, pricing competitiveness, quality metrics, and installation cost performance. What Success Looks Like — First Year Every major market has at least one—and ideally multiple—qualified, trained, and active installation partners capable of supporting customer demand. Faster Quoting Standard installation pricing is established and used for the majority of projects, allowing Sales to quote installation immediately instead of waiting days for subcontractor pricing. Higher Quality Audit pass rates improve while warranty claims, callbacks, and rework continue to decline. Better Cost Management Installation costs remain competitive within the market while consistently protecting company profitability. Strong Network Health Installer retention, certification completion, and partner satisfaction remain high, supported by a documented backup network in every major region. What You Bring 5+ years of experience managing subcontractor or vendor networks, field operations, construction operations, or trades-based project management within a multi-site or nationally distributed installation environment. Proven experience negotiating pricing and contracts with trade contractors, vendors, or subcontractors. Strong Excel skills, including building and maintaining pricing models. Experience with Pivot Tables and Power Query is a plus. Experience developing or delivering field training and certification programs. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and ADA/IBC building codes—or the ability to become proficient quickly. Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills with the ability to maintain high standards while building long-term contractor partnerships. A self-starter who enjoys building scalable systems and processes and is equally comfortable working in spreadsheets, conference rooms, and active construction sites. Willingness to travel approximately 25–50% nationally during the network expansion phase. Valid driver's license with the ability to meet customer jobsite background and safety requirements. Nice to Have Experience with ramps, stairs, canopies, railing systems, modular aluminum structures, or accessibility-related construction products. Experience building subcontractor scorecard systems or vendor management programs from the ground up. Previous ownership of a budget, cost center, or P&L. Reporting & Location This position is based in West Chester, Ohio , with regular national travel.
