About the Position

Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist Profession: Surgical Technician Specialty: Surgical Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10:30 AM - 07:00 PM Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: BLS Provider obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer Certifications: One or more of the following required: - Surgical Tech credentialed from a recognized certifying body obtained prior to hire or job transfer - Surgical Tech credentialed from another recognized certifying body obtained prior to hire or job transfer Must-Have: High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required Description: Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies. Hands required or requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients. Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instrument counts throughout procedures. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Experience scrubbing robotics, spine, and/or orthopedics highly preferred. Participates in on-call rotation with possible 2-4 shifts required each 6-week schedule period.
