Our organization is on the lookout for Board Certified/Board Eligible Hematologist Oncologists to join us in establishing a new team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a key player in our well-regarded statewide cancer service line as we expand our presence in the Des Moines area. Utilize your skills to foster the growth and success of the team, while ensuring exceptional patient care.
Opportunity Highlights- 36 hours of patient contact weekly
- Patient volume: 12-15 per day
- Primarily outpatient care
- Admissions handled by Hospitalist service
- Inpatient rounding by Advanced Practice Providers (APP)
- Equitable second call for physicians
- Teaching opportunities for residents and medical students
- Involvement in clinical trials
- Built-in mentorship program
- Case mix includes Solid Organ Tumors, Breast, Gynecology, and Hematology
- Two-year income guarantee of $800,000
- Salary floor of $600,000 with production incentives starting in year three
- $150,000 recruitment bonus
- Malpractice insurance coverage with tail coverage included
- 403B retirement plan with matching contributions and a 457B savings option
- Annual CME allowance of $6,000
- Benefits commence on Day One
- 30 days of paid time off annually

- MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center, offering comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and patient-centered care
- 2,000 analytic cancer cases handled each year, showcasing our extensive experience and care
- A dedicated Breast Center with two specialized surgeons for advanced surgical interventions
- Radiation Oncology services at two locations, featuring five linear accelerators and Iowa's only CyberKnife
- An advanced Infusion Center within our Hematology Oncology department
- Cutting-edge Surgical & Diagnostic capabilities, including Colorectal Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Thoracic Surgery, and Neurosurgery, with the first site in Iowa to offer ION technology for robotic-assisted lung biopsies
- A weekly Multidisciplinary Lung Clinic for coordinated patient management
- Monthly Cancer Conferences across various disease sites for collaborative treatment planning
- Comprehensive support services, including Palliative Care and Integrative Oncology Services, backed by our foundation
- Accreditations from CoC, NAPBC, NAPRC, and ACR
- A strategic partnership with a local clinic to enhance access to high-quality cancer care in Central Iowa, covering Radiation Oncology, Hematology Oncology, and Surgical Oncology, including a dedicated GYN Oncologist
