Description PeaceHealth is seeking a Biomed Imaging Tech II for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $53.40 – $53.40. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. Job Summary Ensure and maintain the quality, safety and performance of imaging, radiology and ancillary equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections and other equipment related duties as assigned. Essential Functions Responsible for equipment performance to include ensuring the safety and performance of general radiology equipment including portables, c-arms, rad/chest rooms, rad/fluoro rooms and mammography and other ancillary hospital equipment by verifying proper operation, troubleshooting computer hardware and networking systems for Digital Radiography (DR), Computed Radiography (CR), and PACS environments, performing preventive maintenance inspections and accurately complete equipment repairs as assigned. Maintain configuration data for data communication equipment/networks and computer systems during routine maintenance work and submit change reports. Responsible for equipment operations to include ensuring the safety and performance of life support, diagnostic, therapeutic and ancillary hospital equipment by verifying proper operation, perform preventive maintenance inspections and accurately complete equipment repairs as assigned. Contribute to the accurate and timely reporting of equipment maintenance history by documenting preventive maintenance inspection, repair services and other department activity as required in the computerized maintenance management system. Monitor supply and equipment usage. Make recommendations for cost containment. Make appropriate charges for services rendered and supplies used. Coordinate outside repairs. Actively participate in on-call duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Associate Degree Required: Biomedical Technology Or Associate Degree Required: Electronics Or Associate Degree Required: Physics Or Associate Degree Required: U.S Military Biomedical Or Technical Program Required: And Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Biomedical Instrumentation Technology Experience Minimum of 2 years Required: Experience with general radiology equipment including portables, c-arms, rad/chest rooms, rad/fluoro rooms and networking computer systems for DR, CR and PACS environments and Required: Understanding of imaging medical applications and procedures (or may have equivalent combination of education and/or experience) Credentials Preferred: Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist Skills Excellent analysis/problem solving skills. (Required) Good oral and interpersonal communication skills. (Required) Basic medical terminology related to equipment function. (Required) Knowledge of bio-engineering, bio-electronics and instrumentation. (Required) Familiarity with DICOM, operating computers with Windows operating system, computer hardware and network troubleshooting. (Required) Ability to navigate multiple software sites simultaneously. Detail oriented with ability to key statistical data accurately. Familiarity with technologies that support information system operations. Familiarity with data processing network techniques and design. Knowledge of information technology facilities design, maintenance or operation. Competency in employing electronic test equipment and computer-based test and maintenance utilities. Knowledge of personal computer application software, operating systems, computer devices and peripheral devices; computer, data and transmission principles, theories and concepts; public and private networks; statistical analysis, bench marking techniques, data correlation and preparation of reports; electronic fundamentals and communications techniques. Project plan development. Wiring standards. Wide Area Network operation and design. Ability to work as a team or independently to accomplish assignments and objectives within specified time periods. Solid knowledge of schematics and ability to work independently on repairs, safety testing and preventive maintenance. Ability to perform basic troubleshooting, operation, repair, swapping of spare equipment and obtaining vendor support as needed. Working Conditions Lifting Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures. Facilities/Maintenance/ Engineer: Continuous moving around area. Occasional reaching/ bending/ stooping/ squatting/ crouching/ kneeling/ grasping. Security: Ability to move around area with occasional sitting. Continuous moving around area. Lifting/carrying: Frequent up to 10 lbs. Occasional up to 50 lbs. Environmental Conditions Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. Exposure to outside temperatures (seasonal). Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Facilities/Maintenance/Engineer: Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting. Security: Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting. Mental/Visual Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
