Maintenance Director

Facility: Sun Harbor Position: Maintenance Director Location: Port Charlotte, FL Shift: Full-Time Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year, based on experience Join Our Team as Maintenance Director! Sun Harbor is seeking a hands-on and dependable Maintenance Director to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and facility operations of our nursing and rehabilitation center. This is a leadership position for someone who is comfortable managing daily maintenance needs, responding to urgent issues, coordinating vendors, and making sure the building remains safe, functional, clean, and comfortable for our residents and staff. Oversee all day-to-day building and property maintenance operations Lead, train, supervise, and support the on-site Maintenance Assistant Respond quickly and effectively to urgent maintenance and facility issues Perform routine building inspections and walkthroughs Identify and address maintenance concerns before they become larger problems Coordinate and communicate with outside vendors, contractors, and service providers Monitor repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility projects Maintain a safe, clean, functional, and welcoming environment Assist with basic repairs and troubleshooting as needed Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation What We're Looking For Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, building operations, property management, hospitality, hotel maintenance, or a related field Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to supervise, motivate, and support a small maintenance team Hands‑on approach—you are comfortable getting involved and solving problems Calm, proactive, and dependable when responding to urgent issues Basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and tracking maintenance tasks Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or general building systems knowledge strongly preferred Healthcare or skilled nursing experience is helpful but not required Why Join Us? 401(k) retirement plan Generous paid time off Comprehensive medical and dental insurance Supportive, team‑oriented work environment Employee recognition programs Company perks and discounts #J-18808-Ljbffr Sun Harbor
