Job Description
Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse

Job Description

The Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, evaluating, and delivering safe, appropriate care within the scope of their practice to patients in the Perioperative setting. This role requires the ability to work effectively in Pre-Op and PACU patient care settings and requires availability for on-call duties as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients in the Pre-Op and PACU stages.
• Plan and deliver appropriate nursing care as per the established protocols.
• Coordinate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure patient safety.
• Monitor patient vitals and manage postoperative outcomes.
• Document all patient interactions and care provided accurately.

Schedule

Monday-Friday; Day shift - varied hours with some on-call responsibilities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New Mexico or multi-state Registered Nurse License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire.
• ACLS (AHA) certification required upon hire.
• PALS (AHA) certification required upon hire.
• Two years of previous related nursing experience is preferred.
