REGISTERED DIETITIAN (SAFETY)

Registered Dietitian (Safety) Department: Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero. Salary: $6,489.00 - $8,610.00 per month. Position: Permanent, Full Time. Location: San Luis Obispo County. Work type: In Office. # of Positions: Multiple. Job Summary Responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing nutrition interventions for patients in a secured forensic facility, while ensuring compliance with safety, security, infection control, and emergency response protocols. Responsibilities Nutrition Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation Complete nutrition assessments using the Nutrition Care Process for assigned patients. Attend and consult with treatment and interdisciplinary teams. Initiate intensive MNT plans for high‑risk patients. Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of nutrition interventions. Maintain current patient profile information. Nutrition Therapy Plan Implementation Implement nutrition interventions with the treatment/interdisciplinary team. Communicate to Nutrition Services staff and monitor individualized patient meal plans. Provide consultation to unit staff and patients regarding MNT issues. Participate in department meetings, professional practice groups, and hospital committees. Safety/Security/Infection Control/Emergency Response Conduct self‑assessment and maintain required standards for safety, security, infection control, emergency response, and a non‑hostile work environment. Minimum Requirements Eligibility by certification list, transfer, or reinstatement. Current registration as a Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Commission on Dietetic Registration).
