Position Overview:

This role involves delivering direct nursing care in environments where patients require intricate assessments and interventions, adhering to the established policies and protocols of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather comprehensive information from patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to create a complete understanding of the patient's needs.
• Analyze and interpret assessment data to identify relevant diagnoses or conditions.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the interprofessional team to determine optimal outcomes.
• Formulate a care plan that outlines strategies and alternatives to achieve desired outcomes, utilizing clinical judgment in partnership with patients and their families.
• Execute the care plan while ensuring a safe environment, coordinating efforts with patients and the healthcare team.
• Assess processes and progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
• Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, reflecting on personal performance and staying updated with current knowledge.
• Communicate effectively across all practice areas, fostering collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Employ clinical inquiry and integrate the best available evidence into nursing practice.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in critical care nursing, ensuring care is tailored to the patient's age and clinical requirements as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
• Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly use speech for oral communication.
• Consistently stand and walk.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
• Engage in sitting, reaching, and data entry on a keyboard.
• Utilize vision for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, including color differentiation.
• Employ smell to identify odors.
• Use hearing to receive oral communication and detect alarms or machinery issues.
• Occasionally lift or move objects weighing 25-50 lbs and assist with patient mobility.
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
• Occasional driving; rare crawling and running.

Licensure and Certifications:

State-specific requirements include:

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Nurse (RN) - State Department of Professional Regulation
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) - AHA or equivalent certifications (e.g., ENPC, NRP, PALS, TNCC)
