Assistant Estimator

Role Description The Assistant Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Hingham, MA. This position supports the estimating team by reviewing project plans, gathering measurements, and assisting in preparing accurate cost estimates for insulation and related services. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting and organizing project information, communicating with customers and internal teams, and helping to prepare proposals and bid documents. The Assistant Estimator will update project files, track material and labor requirements, and assist in coordinating with field teams to ensure estimates align with actual job conditions. This role also involves learning company products and installation methods to better understand project scope and provide reliable estimating support. Qualifications Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents, drawings, and measurements, with strong attention to detail. Competence in using spreadsheets and other office software for data entry, cost calculations, and report preparation. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with estimators, technicians, and customers. Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities. Interest in or experience with construction, insulation, or building trades; familiarity with spray foam, fiberglass, or cellulose insulation is a plus. Ability to work on-site in Hingham, MA and occasionally visit job sites as needed. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
