About the Role:

The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within a warehouse or distribution center. This position is responsible for operating various types of forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport goods to designated locations. The operator will contribute to maintaining an organized inventory system by accurately picking and placing orders using RF scanners and other warehouse technology. Safety and compliance with operational protocols are paramount to prevent accidents and damage to products or equipment. Ultimately, the Forklift Operator supports the overall supply chain process by facilitating timely and accurate material handling to meet business demands.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks in a warehouse or industrial setting.
• Basic understanding of warehouse safety protocols and material handling procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret inventory documents and use RF scanning technology.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating multiple types of forklifts including stand-up forklifts and clamp trucks.
• Familiarity with general warehouse operations and order picking processes.
• Previous experience working with electric pallet jacks and other powered industrial trucks.
• Knowledge of warehouse management software and inventory control systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, stand-up forklifts, and clamp trucks to move materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
• Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring proper stacking and securing of items to prevent damage during transport.
• Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick, track, and record inventory movements.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance checks to ensure all machinery is in safe working condition.
• Collaborate with warehouse team members to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

Skills:

The required skills such as forklift operation, electric pallet jack handling, and use of RF scanners are essential for daily tasks involving the safe and efficient movement of materials. Proficiency with stand-up forklifts and clamp trucks allows the operator to handle a variety of load types and warehouse configurations. Order picking skills ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders, while knowledge of general warehouse operations supports smooth workflow and inventory management. The ability to operate pallet jacks complements forklift use by enabling movement of smaller or more delicate loads.
