Senior Bioinformatics & Genomics Data System Engineer

Natera

Natera seeks a Senior Bioinformatics & Genomics Data System Engineer for its Data Science Production Engineering department. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software tools, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and analytics systems in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy software tools and data/cloud/automation systems
Monitor and optimize software performance across key system metrics and infrastructure
Create system architecture and infrastructure design documentation with leadership teams
Develop technical documentation and training materials for team-owned systems
Coach team members on new technologies, procedures, and best practices

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related field
6+ years industry experience with Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with Master's, or 2+ years with Doctorate
3+ years experience in regulated environment (CLIA/FDA compliant settings)
3+ years Software Engineering or DevOps team experience
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining custom software tools or systems
