Shift Leader

We are looking for a driven, organized, and people-focused Kitchen Shift Leader to assist in leading our Back of House operations. The Kitchen Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, developing team members, maintaining food safety and quality standards, and ensuring the kitchen runs with excellence, speed, accuracy, and consistency. What does a shift consist of as a Kitchen Shift Leader at Chick‑fil‑A? A day in the life of a Kitchen Manager is fast-paced, hands‑on, and centered around leading the Back of House team with excellence. You will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure food quality and safety standards are met, coach team members in real time, and help the team stay organized during busy meal periods. This role requires someone who can balance people leadership, operational execution, and problem‑solving throughout the day. Every shift is an opportunity to develop the team, improve systems, and create a kitchen environment that runs with consistency, speed, and care. This position operates in a fast‑paced restaurant kitchen environment. The Kitchen Director must be comfortable standing for extended periods, working around hot equipment, lifting product as needed, and leading during high‑volume meal periods. Schedule This is a leadership position that requires flexibility based on business needs. Availability may include early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays. Chick‑fil‑A restaurants are closed on Sundays. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all Back of House operations during assigned shifts Ensure food quality, food safety, cleanliness, and operational standards are consistently met Maintain Chick‑fil‑A standards for food preparation, presentation, speed, and accuracy Coach, train, and develop kitchen team members and leaders Create a positive, high‑accountability kitchen culture focused on teamwork and excellence Monitor labor, food cost, waste, productivity, and kitchen efficiency Support inventory management, ordering, and product rotation Ensure all food safety procedures, health department standards, and company policies are followed Identify operational opportunities and implement systems to improve kitchen performance Hold team members accountable to expectations in a respectful and professional manner Partner with restaurant leadership to achieve business goals Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance development for Back of House team members Ensure the kitchen is properly staffed and positioned for peak business periods Lead by example with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and servant leadership mindset Respond quickly and effectively to operational challenges during shifts Help create a workplace where team members feel supported, valued, and motivated to grow Qualifications Previous leadership experience in a restaurant, food service, hospitality, or high‑volume operations environment preferred Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills Ability to lead, coach, and hold others accountable Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence Ability to manage multiple priorities at once Must be dependable, punctual, and professional Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in a kitchen environment Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays as needed Our Benefits Include Paid time off Monthly food allowance and free food while on breaks Flexible scheduling (and closed on Sundays) Medical Benefits- We offer a variety of Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits packages Free Telemedicine 401k with a match Intentional growth and development to help you reach your professional goals Scholarship opportunities Competitive pay Opportunity for advancement as we promote leaders from within Bonus Opportunites Chick‑fil‑A, Inc. is a family owned and privately held restaurant company founded in 1967 by S.
