Job Title: Patient Care Technician Profession: PCT Specialty: Stepdown Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 8H Evenings Hours per Shift: 37.5 hours per week Experience: 1 year(s) License: Yes Certifications: BLS, PCT Certification via NHA Must-Have: BLS Certification, Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant via NHA Description: Department: PCU Required Certifications: BLS, PCT Certification via NHA Number of Beds: 36 Common Diagnoses: Anything post ICU, post shock, post stroke, initiating critical care unit level of care while pending transfer, pneumonia, CHF, post cardiac arrest, non-DKA, respiratory failure for weaning or unweaning pending tracheostomy for short or long-term placement, and more. Job Duties: Vitals, A.M./P.M. care, restocking, running errands, EKGs, outputs, bladder scanning, and blood glucose monitoring. Tele/Monitor Techs: Centralized telemonitoring is available 24/7. Nurses must be able to read and interpret telemetry appropriately and communicate changes with the physician for the appropriate intervention. Schedule is made 4 weeks in advance. Weekend Requirements: A minimum of every other weekend. Holiday Requirements: May be asked to participate in the holiday rotation. There is no call or standby requirement.
