Step onto the floor, review prints and sketches, and bring steel components together with clean, consistent welds. In this role, you’ll assemble standardized and custom weldments using fixtures and your own keen eye for fit-up.

A day in the life

You’ll start by studying samples, drawings, and process docs, then set your electric-arc equipment for the job at hand—selecting the right heat, wire, and electrodes to meet quality targets. Throughout the shift you’ll:

• Run MIG/TIG welds on electric-arc machines across repetitive and custom builds.
• Lay out and help construct weld fixtures that keep parts true and repeatable.
• Verify your work against procedures and our quality system; secondary approval applies.
• Fine-tune machine parameters to compensate for material and condition changes.
• Collaborate with Leads and fellow welders; jump in to assist as projects demand.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues to keep production moving.
• Work safely and model safe behaviors in line with company standards.
• Hit routed production rates or specified targets consistently.
• Complete job paperwork accurately and document your daily work.
• Keep your station orderly and clean at job completion or at the end of shift.
• Take on other related duties as assigned.

What you bring

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years of manufacturing experience; or an equivalent mix of education and experience as determined by the Shop Supervisor or Operations Manager.
• Strong math capability and clear communication.
• Confident reading blueprints and process documentation; fluent with a tape measure.
• Personal welding helmet required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physically capable of wearing a welder’s shield and respirator as needed is required.
