Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients across various settings, including patient service centers, mobile units, long-term care facilities, and physician offices.
• Prepare specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures to foster trust and confidence.
• Provide coverage at multiple locations as needed, supporting team operations and workflow efficiency.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities by guiding, mentoring, and onboarding new staff and interns.
• Act as a point of contact for staff at various sites, offering support and coordinating activities to meet daily operational goals.
• Handle high-volume and complex test requests, collaborating with sales, laboratory testing, IT, billing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality at all times.

Required Skills

• Proven ability to perform blood draws with a high level of skill and safety.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly and professionally.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and locations.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
• Basic data entry and keyboarding skills to support documentation and specimen tracking.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred; phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Minimum of five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• At least three years of experience in a patient service center or similar environment is preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service setting is a plus.
• Keyboard and data entry experience required.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday with rotational Saturdays.
• In states requiring certification, active phlebotomy certification is preferred or required.
