Trust & Estate Associate - Atlanta, GA

Overview Description: Fox Rothschild is seeking an associate with five to seven years of experience to support our Taxation and Wealth Planning Department. This role is ideal for a sophisticated trusts-and-estates practitioner who advises high-net-worth individuals on complex wealth transfer and estate planning matters and supports fiduciaries in trust and estate administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping clients define, protect, and achieve their long-term planning objectives through thoughtful, customized strategies that reflect evolving tax laws and family dynamics. We are not currently accepting resumes from search firms for this position. Qualifications Juris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia. Strong working knowledge of gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax regimes. Excellent drafting, analytical, and client communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters independently while collaborating effectively with teams. Client-focused mindset with a high degree of professionalism and discretion. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and trustees on comprehensive estate and wealth transfer planning strategies. Design and implement advanced estate planning techniques, including gift tax planning, charitable giving strategies, irrevocable gifting trusts, and leveraging federal and state tax exemptions and exclusions. Draft and review sophisticated estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and ancillary instruments. Counsel trustees and executors on the administration of trusts and decedents’ estates. Guide fiduciaries in understanding and fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. Assist clients and fiduciaries in navigating complex intestacy laws and administration procedures. Work Environment This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers. Physical Requirements Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
