Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for fabricating assemblies and parts for products, making changes to existing products according to engineering documents and production standards. You will set up and lay out work using fixtures and guides to fabricate parts and assemblies, arrange parts for fabrication and staging processes, and review finished assemblies and parts to ensure accuracy against drawings and BOMs. Your role includes reporting fabrication issues, assisting in resolutions, rejecting defective parts and materials, and ensuring the safe and careful use, treatment, and maintenance of tools and equipment. Participation in cross-functional meetings and troubleshooting complex issues are also part of the role. Additionally, you will participate in cross-training of team members.

• Ensure safe and careful use, treatment, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Participate in and attend cross-functional meetings.
• Engage in complex troubleshooting.
• Participate in cross-training of team members.

• Experience with blueprint reading and repair in a light industry setting.
• 1-2 years of machine operating experience preferred.
• Proficiency in machine setup and operation.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use measuring tools.
• Experience with CNC machines, press brake, punch press, laser, shear, calipers, overhead crane, and forklift.

• Self-directed with good communication skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and PC skills.
• Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals.
• Understanding of 6S principles.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, or sit for long periods.
• Team-oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable.

The work environment is very clean and located in Plant 2, which is one of three locations off Willis Road in South Richmond. It provides a professional setting where safety and quality are prioritized.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
